Textile Series exhibition held in Colombo highlights Sri Lanka’s apparel sourcing platform
Organised by CEMS-Global USA, the three-day exhibition served as a comprehensive sourcing and technology platform connecting Sri Lanka’s apparel exporters with international suppliers of textile machinery, yarn, fabrics, dyes, chemicals and accessories.
This milestone edition also marked the 25th anniversary of CEMS-Global’s Textile Series of Exhibitions and featured three co-located events: the 13th Textech Sri Lanka 2026, the 15th Colombo International Yarn & Fabric Show 2026, and the 51st DyeChem Sri Lanka 2026.
Sri Lanka’s Minister of Industries and Entrepreneurship Development Sunil Handunneththi and Deputy Minister Chathuranga Abeysinghe attended the opening ceremony as chief guests.
Among the special guests were Felix A. Fernando, chairman of the Joint Apparel Association Forum (JAAF); Yohan Lawrence, secretary general of JAAF; and Husni Salieh, chairman of the Fabric Apparel Accessory Manufacturers Association (FAAMA).
Speaking at the event, S. S. Sarwar, group CEO of CEMS-Global USA, said the exhibition continues to serve as a strategic platform connecting Sri Lanka’s apparel manufacturers with global technology providers and raw material suppliers.
Industry leaders at the event highlighted Sri Lanka’s reputation for ethical manufacturing and value-added apparel production, while stressing the importance of technology upgrading, sustainable production and stronger global partnerships to maintain competitiveness.
The exhibition showcased innovations in automation, sustainable textile processing, digital printing, energy-efficient machinery and advanced chemical solutions, reflecting the sector’s shift toward more sustainable and technology-driven manufacturing.
The event attracted thousands of trade visitors, including garment manufacturers, sourcing professionals, production managers, entrepreneurs and policy makers from across the region.
