Professor Mohammod Mohsin Emerges as a Discussed BNP Candidate for Chattogram–7 (Rangunia)

Professor Mohammod Mohsin, a long-time BNP organizer and academic, has recently drawn attention as a potential candidate for the Chattogram–7 (Rangunia) constituency ahead of the next national election. Party insiders and grassroots activists describe him as an experienced and dedicated leader with strong organizational roots in the area.

A faculty member of the Economics Department at Rangunia Government College, Prof. Mohsin has been involved in BNP politics since his student life. Over the years, he has served as the general secretary of the Rangunia Upazila unit of BNP for three terms, as a member of the Chattogram district BNP executive committee, and as part of the convening committee of the party’s north district unit.

Throughout his political career, Prof. Mohsin has faced multiple lawsuits and periods of political harassment. He contested the upazila parishad elections in 2005 and 2014 as a BNP-backed candidate. He also served as the vice president of the North District Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal and played an active role in the local chapters of the party’s affiliated organizations.

According to party sources, Prof. Mohsin’s name has resurfaced prominently within BNP circles as a strong contender for the Chattogram–7 seat. His organizational skills and long-standing presence in Rangunia’s political landscape have earned him recognition among both senior leaders and grassroots supporters.

Currently, Prof. Mohsin is spending busy days meeting local party activists, attending gatherings, and strengthening the BNP’s grassroots network in Rangunia. Many local leaders say his outreach activities have injected new enthusiasm into the party’s rank and file, as he calls for unity and coordinated movement at the local level.
