National IT Competition for Youth with Disabilities 2025 held

 

National IT Competition for Youth with Disabilities, organized by Bangladesh Computer Council under the initiative of ICT division was held at University of Asia Pacific, Green Road Dhaka. 

Dr. Mohammad Mehedi Hasan, Executive Director and Additional Secretary of Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) was present as the chief guest at the closing and award distribution ceremony. Khondoker Zahurul Alam, Executive Director of CSID and Architect Mahbuba Haque, Chairperson of the board of trustees of the University of Asia Pacific were present as the special guests. The session was chaired by Professor Dr. Kamrul Ahsan, Vice Chancellor of the University of Asia Pacific. Professor Dr. Mohiuddin Ahmed Bhuiyan, Advisor to the Vice Chancellor and Dean, School of Medicine, University of Asia Pacific was also present. Mohammad Jafarul Alam Khan, Director (Training and Development), BCC delivered the welcome speech.

This competition has been organised for the 9th time by Bangladesh Computer Council. The age group for the competition was 13-19 years. 

According to the organizers, this competition is an important initiative for developing the skills of young persons with disabilities in the information technology sector, which will boost their confidence and create opportunities for them to contribute in the field of information technology in the future. 

Physically disabled, visually impaired, speech and hearing impaired, and neurodevelopmental disorder (NDD); a total of 122 competitors from all over the country participated in this competition across 4 categories. These 12 winners will be trained for a month, from them 4 will be sent to compete in South Korea in the Global IT competition. This time, the competition assessed the skills in using Microsoft Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint and the internet. The top 3 from each category, i.e. a total of 12 competitors from 4 categories were awarded. Guests presented smartphones, certificates and crests to the winners of the National IT Competition for Youth with Disabilities 2025.

The 1st Position holder in the Physically Disabled Category was Emon Ahmed Tomal from Sirajganj . The 2nd and 3rd position holder were Foyezul Islam Siam (Chandpur), Md. Ratul Islam (Rangpur) respectively. 

In the Visually Impaired Category the 1st Position holder was Abdul Kaium Rahi from Natore, 2nd Position was won by  Abu Faraj from Comilla and 3rd Position by Abu Sayeed from Thakurgaon.  

In Speech and Hearing Impaired Category the 1st Position holder was Sabria Islam Raina from Tangail. 2nd Position holder was Mohsin Abdullah from Dhaka and 3rd Position holder was Baishakhi Khanom from Dhaka.

In the Neurodevelopmental Disorder (NDD) Category, the 1st Position was held by Kazi Shahnur Alam Mahir from Dhaka. 2nd Position by Aysha Siddikey Parisha from Faridpur and 3rd Position by Tahmid Al Rahman Nasif from Comilla.
